Gas Mask By Mira

Your Surplus Gas Mask May Be Dangerous

If you’ve been prepping for a while, chances are you either own a gas mask or have one on your shopping list.

After doing lot’s of research on the topic, I came to find out that most gas masks available on Amazon and survival shops are obsolete, expired, and downright dangerous to use.

Also, if you’re prepping for a CBRN threat, it would require a highly specialized gas mask/filter combo as many masks on the market aren’t intended for such use.

MIRA Safety NBC-77 SOF Filters

This filter is special because it contains a Reactor element which filters out radioactive iodine. Most filters on the market do not contain this, and this is a requirement for true CBRN protection.

Filter is also special because it has a very long shelf life of 20 years, while most filters only last 6 years. They are a bit more expensive, but in the long run, the extra expense pays for itself as average filter prices are about $55, and over the course of 20 years would cost $160+ to swap out when expired.

Rated for A2B2E2K2HgSXP3 D R DIN 58621 Reactor.

So, If you’re currently in the market for a quality respirator, have a surplus mask that you suspect is expired, or need to refresh your filters, check these out!
